Rashid signed 3 agreements with Germany to strengthen cooperation


Egypt and Germany agreed on the need to promote and strengthen economic relations in the coming stage to overcome the negative effects of the global financial crisis, as the two sides signed three agreements on cooperation in the areas of specifications, quality, and increase the efficiency of energy use in industry.

This came on during the intensive negotiations conducted by Engineer Rashid Mohamed Rashid, Minister of Trade and Industry with the President of the Federation of German Industry and the Economic Adviser to Mrs. Angela Merkel, German chancellor and the large number of heads of major German companies in various fields

He also opened the Egyptian-German business forum to be organized by the Arab-German Chamber of Cairo in cooperation with the Federation of German Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of German Industries.

The minister said during his talks with the President of the Federation of German Industry, Dr. Mets Micrrilesn that the government is seeking in the coming period to strengthen and deepen the areas of economic cooperation with Germany in particular and the European Union in general to exploit the excellent political relations between Egypt and the European Union in the expansion of mechanisms and areas of economic cooperation with Germany, especially as the the global economic crisis, despite the negative effects and challenges also create new opportunities for economic cooperation

The minister said that Egypt is one of the largest political partners of Europe, particularly in efforts to establish security and peace in the Middle East and so we aim to build on this to increase the bedrock of economic relations, the minister said that Egypt is in the list of countries attractive for investment, referring to the report of the World Bank which stressed that Egypt ranked first in economic reform in the Middle East.

For his part, stressed the President of the Federation of German Industry, Dr. Micrrilesn Germany and Germany in particular the business community to consider Egypt as a central look forward to the intensification of cooperation with it in various economic areas, said Dr. Reyes Hirit the Executive Director of the Arab-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Cairo, Egypt is one of the the best opportunity for German investments

In his talks with Dr. Jeter Vaidman economic adviser to German Chancellor Merkel Rashid reviewed cooperation between Egypt and Germany in the framework of participation, as well as the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the face of the negative impacts of economic crisis, as well as a minister during his meeting with members of the Board of Foreign Trade, Egypt, Germany, to see the revitalization of Union's initiative for the Mediterranean and the establishment of a new funding mechanism for projects in the framework of this initiative.
